Imagining Artsfest – a seminar discussion exploring what Artsfest could be in the future.
3-5pm Thursday 9th May at School of Art, University of Wolverhampton
Arrive 2.30pm for tea and coffee in the foyer area for a prompt start at 3pm.
Join a panel of cultural leaders and artists from the region to discuss, challenge and explore what Artsfest could and should be in the future.
Imagining Artsfest will be chaired by Iris Bertz, an alumni of University of Wolverhampton School of Art and creative practitioner in the arts and education sector, working internationally with a wide range of partners.
The panel will include Aaron Wright – Artistic Director of Fierce Festival, Parminder Dosanjh – Artistic Director of Creative Black Country, Ryan Hughes - Founder and Director of the Coventry Biennial and Claire Farrell – Director of Longbridge Light Festival.

Lost and Found
Saturday 11. May 2019 11 am Walking Tour
During this walk Iris Bertz will introduce you to the idea of Lost and Found. Art & Architecture : the accidental, secret and hidden beauty of art that emerges if we set out looking for it. This can be found in many surprising locations around a city but is always outside of a gallery environment. The walk tries to recapture what it felt like to arrive in Wolverhampton in 1999 to study at the School of Art & Design.
'The walk sharpens your sense of aesthetic appreciation. It is surprising what we see once we look. Above all, it is a fun way to make the best of our everyday surroundings and to feel closer to them'.
Join Iris for rest, refreshments and further conversation after the event.
About Iris:
Iris is a German-British visual artist with a background in sculpture. Her work is now is mostly making projects happen for others, but her creative outlook is a constant force. She is a co-director of Still Walking.
Footwear suitable for urban walking and weather-appropriate clothing essential.
Accessible to all.
Ticket price £5 includes lunch and a drink.
